This whole female anti-male thing. It is simple penis envy.
That right, penis envy.
I see it all the time. Particularly, when I wander past the line outside the ladies toilet at large public events.
Oh, how you ladies wish you could pee standing up.
.

Have seen some have a crack at it. No, not on German speaking corners of the interweb. Big Days Out and the likes often used to see lasses aplenty taking over the gents' cubicles in order to sidestep the queues for the ladies. One mate of mine was abused for daring to unzip the chopper and use the slashers while said femmes were queued past it. The temerity, etc.

I have seen it too, Dr Yobbo.
Back in the glory days of the Regatta Hotel.
There I was at the urinal, when a disconcertingly incongrous shape moved into view beside me.
It was the lovely Melinda, who had bent over and backed up to the urinal. She then blithely lifted her skirt and very successfully used the facilities.
Oh, what a jolly night that was!

I miss the old 'Gatta. The new one is a gentrified monstrosity full of pointlessly shiny surfaces and pointlessly shiny people who all should have been left to drown in the last flood

Yes, Dr Yobbo. I wander past the Regatta's famed old veranda. A place where I enjoyed so much louche hilarity. The epic raw egg eating competition between Scutter and Haggis. The sculling through your underpants games. So many stories. And now I see people drinking coffee. DRINKING COFFEE!
It's a travesty. I blame the younger generation and their strange lack of joie de vivre.

"Gentrified monstrosity"

Indeed. The only time I've been involved in a fight* at a pub was at the Regatta in 1992. More specifically, just outside the Regatta. Three stupidly large and largely stupid fellows had been kicked out for being drunken groping fuckchops, and were in the mood to beat someone up. Turned out to be me. Looking at today's Regatta patrons, they'd be flat out mustering up a bit of feigned outrage. Pah! Bring out the old Brisbane pub violence, I say.

*More of a three-versus-one kicking than a fight

Some research reported earlier this year (http://www.smh.com.au/national/health/research-backs-up-man-flu-sufferers-20130125-2dc68.html) suggests that men have more temperature receptors in part of their brain and therefore suffer more when trying to fight off bugs. By the way did you go to the doctor and get something that may actually help, like Relenza ? Or did you just tough it out like a real man ?

Regarding the chosen illustratiion: I suspect that among ladies of a certain age, Sean Bean's man-flu might be regarded differently from regular man-flu, and there would be many prepared to offer tea & sympathy.

JB,

Perhaps we could use discarded Flu Syringes as projectiles?

If I saw this floating above me I would call an emergency session of The Bounders Club.

Poor Kochie!
